Neighbourhood Plan Update - Sept '23

Progress continues to be made with the review of the Warminster Neighbourhood Plan (WNP).

The feedback gathered from the initial public consultation has enabled the WNP Steering Group to shape the draft WNP in preparation for the next stage of public consultation known as Regulation 14. The draft policies will need to be screened for environmental impacts before the Regulation 14 Consultation. Early indications would now suggest that Regulation 14 will commence early in the new year.

In addition to the review of the WNP, Wiltshire Council will also be commencing their public consultation on the Local Plan. The Local Plan aims to set out the vision and framework for housing, infrastructure and land for employment growth in Wiltshire for the next 15 years. The Plan has a designated section on Warminster, giving residents and stakeholders the chance to provide their feedback on issues directly affecting Warminster such as housing supply, supporting the town centre, education and climate change. Warminster Town Council will be submitting a response to the draft Local Plan. However, residents and stakeholders are also urged to put forward their individual thoughts and feedback. The Wiltshire Council Local Plan consultation will commence on Wednesday 27th September and end on Wednesday 22nd November. A drop-in event is being held at Warminster Sports Centre on Wednesday 18th October, 3pm – 7pm, for interested parties to meet with officers to find out more about the Plan and how to respond to the consultation. Further details can be found at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/local-plan.
